are three  Church of England Parishes
in east Bedfordshire, United Kingdom
and the Diocese of St Albans.

Our three churches are:

St Mary’s Church, Potton

All Saint’s Church, Sutton

St John the Baptist’s Church, Cockayne Hatley

Services In The Benefice


St Mary’s is a Fair Trade Church

At St Mary’s Church we worship in a wide a range of  styles. Sunday Morning Services are at 9-00am (said) and 10-30am (sung) every week. At every 10-30am Service, a play room for young children is provided.

On the 1st Sunday in the Month at 9am we worship together at Cockayne Hatley Church using  the Book of Common Prayer 1662 Holy Communion service (said).

Music and singing and  is an important part of the worship tradition with us at St Mary’s

FAMILY SERVICE on the 1st Sunday in the Month at 10-30am is an all age worship mixing formal and informal designed to include everyone.

2nd Sunday in the Month is “Choral Communion” 10-30am Choral Communion (Common Worship Order 1). A full sung service of Holy Communion with traditional hymns and anthems sung by our wonderful choir under the leadership of our husband and wife choirmaster and organist, David and Judith Barker.

3rd Sunday of the Month at 10-30 is “St Mary’s Shorter Communion Service”: a simpler, guided service of Holy Communion lasting less than an hour. It may be particularly helpful to those new to church or unsure of church practices and traditions. Children are encouraged to take part in this service.

4th Sunday of the Month 10-30am Holy Communion with prayers for Healing (Common Worship Order 1)

5th Sunday of the Month (where applicable)10-30am Benefice services as published in the Parish Magazine and the Sunday Link Newsletter.

Evenings and Weekdays

NightLIGHT is a  monthly service - the first Sunday in each month at 7.30pm Who is it for? Anyone who would appreciate Christian worship in a contemporary style, anyone who finds Sunday morning worship difficult to get to, or just difficult to digest!

1st Sunday in the month: 10.15am Holy Communion with hymns

2nd Sunday, 9.00am Matins with hymns

3rd Sunday, 9.00am Holy Communion (Said)

4th Sunday, 9.00am Service of the Word with hymns

5th Sundays (if any) 9.00am  Benefice services as published in the Parish Magazine and the Sunday Link Newsletter.
